A Word from the Organizers
“We’re not just swimming. We’re building a community worth living in. Together. Through action. Through freedom,”
says Anna Horun, project lead at HAB.
“In nearly two years, HAB has launched 7 adaptive sports disciplines. Movement is about healing — of the body and the spirit. We’re creating not just training opportunities for veterans, but also launching a school for training coaches, including veteran retraining. The program starts this September.”
“August 24 is your chance to join a symbolic event. This is not a sports competition — it’s an experience. A gesture of unity. We’ve intentionally moved away from a competitive format to create space for joy, conversation, and connection. Veterans, civilians, volunteers — everyone is welcome to feel freedom in action. No stopwatch. No pressure. Just water, sunset, and those beside you. True freedom lives in movement. And in supporting one another.”
